Introducing “First Things First!” FTF has been a favorite among visitors all year and rightfully so! He comes from an incredible sow line that has wrote its own chapter in the history books. FTFs mom (Next Intention) was the $60k Grand Overall Commercial Gilt at OYE bred by Cantrell. Her litter was incredible that year including the $50k boar at PT, Champ D1 at OYE, and the third overall cross barrow. The lineage doesn’t stop there though. The dirty secret grandma is the mother of the above mentioned as well at the Grand Barrow at Louisville for Ty Goss and the popular “No Other” boar here who has had a great winter so far. First Things First came from a great litter that included our $18k lead off at Holy Smoke who has found his way to the backdrop regularly this winter and another gilt that brought $11k online and found a great home. We kept the rest of the females and are excited to build around them. First Things First has his mommas stoutness and overwhelming feature but the build and comfort that Backdrop is known for. This mating was planned from the beginning to hopefully make one that looked like this and we are ecstatic that it worked! We appreciate the compliments on him so far and are excited to implement him heavily into our program and our customers.
