Our story with him started back in May of 2018, when Terry visited Dorr, Michigan to view the set of Hampshire boars that the Joostberns family had on feed. At that time, Austin drove out this young World Class son, and I thought that he was one of the best, young Hampshire boars that I had seen this year. Fast forward to Louisville we knew that we wanted to bring him home to Goldrush before he was named the Grand Champion Hampshire Boar and thought that it would take a considerable amount of money to bring him here. At $80,000, when Kevin Wendt said sold, we were very excited that SHOCK THE WORLD was coming to Goldrush! Shock the World is one sound, big legged, tall shouldered, up-headed, square-made Hampshire boar that commands your attention with his style, balance and athleticism. His sire, World Class was the Grand Champion Boar that we purchased in 2017 at the World Pork Expo for $80,000 as well. World Class dominated the Hampshire show ring in 2018 including siring the Champion Hampshire Barrow at the World Pork Expo and the Grand Champion Barrow Overall at the NJSS along with numerous county and jackpot show champions across the nation. His dam is sired by Harbaugh, which is the sire of the The Game who is also dominating the show ring on a national level in 2017 and 2018 as well. The combination of this pedigree and the phenotypic value of this elite individual is why we call him, SHOCK THE WORLD.
